Unfortunately, my generation has lost touch with the beauty of designer watches. Instead, they look to their cellphones and iPods for the time, leaving their wrists barren. People in their twenties have forgotten that watches serve two functions: telling time and making you look stylish and fashionable. In a recent article, a reporter questioned three men in their 30’s who were part of the “no watch” generation. Like many people at the time thought, they figured watches would die off like the sundial.
But for whatever reason, when they hit their mid-thirties, they realized how cool and hip it is to be seen wearing a Movado watch. To them, wearing a Movado watch is seen as vintage –but we all know watches never went out of style and therefore they can’t really be vintage at all. But if it looks like a watch your grandfather might have worn, even better. Both men and women are soaking up the ‘vintage looking” styles of current watches, as well as watches that show the inner mechanisms.
Despite growing technology, luxury watches are here to stay.
